Frequently Asked Questions

Hackathons are 'development marathons', where people collaborate intensively over a short period of time to create a working project.

The hackathon is planned to run from Dec 16 - Dec 17 at The Woodlands Secondary School. Check the timetable for more information.

No, participants will go home after Day 1 and come back to the venue on Day 2. Check the timetable for more information.

Yes, but only after hacking begins. You can continue working on your project after you go home at the end of each day.

Any high school student can attend. Students not attending a Peel District School Board high school may need to complete additional steps, which will be dealt with after registration.

With the help of our sponsors, we will be providing >$20,000 in prizes in cash, software, and API prizes to the chosen winners. All attendees will also get swag bags and sponsor merch!

You and your team own anything you create. Why not make it open source, on Github?

While you can explore ideas, you are not allowed to write code or begin working on the project before the hacking period of the hackathon starts.

All projects will need to be submitted via the Devpost. Project source code must be present on a shareable VCS such as GitHub.

To allow for as much creative liberty, there is no required project theme. However, specific theme restrictions apply for sponsor prize eligibility. Check the Devpost for more info.

Teams have a maximum size of 4 members.
